ECO BUSINESS IRELAND AWARDS

Macroom E, in conjunction with the Clean Technology Centre (Cork Institute of Technology) have developed an environmental training and consultancy programme called the Eco Business Ireland Awards. It is a programme geared specifically for small to medium enterprises and is adapted from a model successfully operating in Vienna for a number of years.

From it, businesses will learn how to reduce waste disposal costs, implement best practice in waste management, lower energy costs and reduce their water charges.  On successful completion of the programme, businesses will be entitled to display the Eco Business Ireland Award mark demonstrating their commitment to environmental best practice.

The first programme, funded by the Environmental Protection Agency started in February 2007 and concluded with the awards ceremony in May 2008. This years programme is currently underway.
