The Waste Matchers website won the Waste Management category.
The awards were presented at a ceremony in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday 6th November in association with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
This is the fifth annual Chambers Ireland Awards. These awards aim to acknowledge and encourage innovation and best practice among Ireland’s local authorities.

Macroom E hosted and received an Eco Business Ireland Award this year.
The programme is geared specifically for small to medium enterprises committed to environmental best practice.

Macroom E Business Centre December 2006
Macroom E, in conjunction with the Clean Technology Centre, CIT have developed an environmental training and consultancy programme called the Eco Business Ireland Awards for small and medium enterprises.
The first programme, funded by the EPA started in February 2007 and recuitment for the next programme will start soon.
Partnership With Business
In 2006 Macroom E was nominated for the Chambers Ireland Awards for Excellence in Local Government in the category of ‘Partnership with Business’.
The awards ceremony was held in association with the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
In 2007 the Eco Business Ireland Award programme initiated by Macroom E in partnership with the Clean Technology Centre, CIT is nominated again for Partnership with Business.
Excellence In Design
The Macroom E Business Centre was proud to be selected nationally in the Sustainable Energy Ireland / ESB Awards 2004. They were one of five finalists in the category of 'Excellence in Design and Specification'.
The annual Sustainable Energy Awards are intended to encourage, recognise and reward excellence in energy management and design in the industrial, commercial and public sectors. The awards focus on individuals and groups who demonstrate a commitment to include energy management as part of their overall management structure and who aim to reduce their energy use and emissions.
This national initiative recognised best practice in energy performance, management and design.
